Grocery Savings for 3/4/11

My new obsession has been saving money using coupon's, sample's, ad's, etc.  This all started having a conversation with a friend of mine about how much money she saves EVERY week and the fact that some items she gets for free (mostly cosmetics) -- So I have decided to see how much I can save in 1 month.

We have 5/6 people to buy for so we recently aquired both a stand alone freezer and a pantry (due to limited cupboard space), with the idea that when there is a sale we can stock up on that item, not miss out just because we have no room.  That was before I became obsessed w/ the coupon's, etc.

Most of my shopping is done at Fry's Grocery Store -- Our total bill came out to $450.95, we paid $296.84 -- a savings of  $154.11.  Our freezer is packed and the pantry.

Important Words America Needs Right Now

With what has gone on in the last week (Tucson shooting and reactions to blame conservative radio, cable tv, and Sarah Palin... I think we should listen to the wise words of Ronald Reagan...
"We must reject the idea that every time a law is broken, society is guilty rather than the law breaker. It is time to restore the American precept that each individual is accountable for his actions."

Quote - Words of Wisdom

“To show you how radical I am, I want carjackers dead. I want rapists dead. I want burglars dead. I want child molesters dead. I want the bad guys dead. No court case. No parole. No early release. I want ‘em dead. Get a gun and when they attack you, shoot ‘em.”

Go Daddy Go's Big

I was ill during the holidays but saw on the news about GoDaddy holiday party for their employee's.  It is so good to see a company doing well in this economy and not only invest back into the community but really show their employees how much mean.  Words can not express the enthusiasm the the COE  Bob Parsons had during his television interview during the holiday party....
The bash attracted some 4,000 Go Daddy employees and guests, costing the Scottsdale-based domain-name registrar an estimated $3 million, up from last year's $2 million event at the same ballpark.
In having all that fun, they also gave back to their community....
Go Daddy announced that it would donate $500,000 to Phoenix-based UMOM New Day Center to fund what will be called the Danica Patrick GoDaddy.com Domestic Violence Center. The money will be used to build a wing at the center to provide shelter, counseling and other resources to victims of domestic violence.
The company also donated $100,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Arizona, enabling the group to fund the dreams of 20 critically ill children.
From all account from the venue to the food to the entertainment it sounds like Go Daddy Got It Right -- in my opinion.

Activists suing McDonald's over Happy Meal toys

You have to be kidding me another ridiculous lawsuit by the by the left wingnuts....I can not believe that I am actually posting this it is so unbelievable...

The Center for Science in the Public Interest, an advocacy group, claims it violates California law for the hamburger chain to make its meals too appealing to kids, thus launching them on a lifelong course to overeating and other health horrors.
But that is not all named in this lawsuit is this "sorry excuse for a parent"....introducing Monet Parham and her lovely daughter Maya -- here is her alleged allegations at McDonalds....

"Because of McDonald's marketing, [her daughter] Maya has frequently pestered Parham into purchasing Happy Meals, thereby spending money on a product she would not otherwise have purchased."

Many of you maybe asking yourself -- and the reason for the lawsuit is....
She's suing because when she said no, her kids became disagreeable and "pouted" - for which she wants class action status.
Needless to say I don't think very highy of this mother.  Last time one of my children were disagreeable and pouted -- imagine this I said NO.  It is called being a parent teaching your children that especially when you act like that you are not to be rewared.  If you feel that a meal is not healthy enough than here is idea -- cook them a home cooked meal -- the last place I go if I want to eat healthier is a fast food joint.  Be the parent -- enough said.

Lastly, what kind of message does this send to her children -- that you are not responsible for your own actions -- the actions of the child, but especially those of this mother -- because you are so overwelmed with being a parent (yes, disagreeable and pounting are par for the course) -- then defentaly sue -- becuase it is McDonalds fault not your own.
